Touch Canterbury's Newest Life Members


Introducing Touch Canterbury's newest Life Members, David Pilkington (Pilky) & Nigel Georgieff! Touch Canterbury would like to congratulate both of these great men on their elections as Life Members at our most recent AGM on the 11th of November.

David Pilkington better known as Pilks in the touch community has been involved with the sport for over 35 years. His journey began as a player at the Belfast Touch Module in the mid 80's moving into refereeing in the early 90's & has since attended over 20 national tournaments. He has sat on the Touch Canterbury Board & served 2 terms as the Chairperson in the mid 00's. Pilks has coordinated the Belfast senior & junior module for over 15 years & is a much valued member of the touch community, we appreciate your service to the game & your life membership is well deserved.

Nigel Georgieff has been involved in the sport for over 30 years starting as a foundation member & coordinator of the High School Old Boys Touch competition held at North Hagley park in the early 80's, to this day he is still involved as a an organiser & referee. Nigel sat on the Touch Canterbury board for close to a decade & sat as the Chairperson for two terms, he was then nominated & elected to the Touch New Zealand Board in 2009 where he served until 2018. His tenure included serving as the Chairperson from 2013 until his departure in 2018. Nigel's influence & impact on the game in Canterbury has been immense & we are grateful for your service.
